Measure the response.

A benign download-to-execution test for your designated security test computer.

Observe email filtering, download protection, application control, and endpoint activity as separate stages. The utility runs only the tests you select.

01 / Synthetic activity

Create, rename, and delete test files; write a test registry marker; launch blank Notepad.

02 / Optional Chrome test

Set the Home button URL and allow pop-ups for Wikipedia. Relevant existing policies are skipped.

03 / Local evidence + Undo

UTC event log and restore journal stay on the test PC. Undo removes unchanged registry values created by this utility.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A deliberate, visible test

  1. Download and launch the executable on the designated test PC.
  2. Select 1 to run the baseline. Record the time and review both security consoles.
  3. Optionally close Chrome yourself, select 2, and type APPLY to test browser policies.
  4. Select 3 to undo registry changes. Close the blank Notepad window yourself.

Logs: %LOCALAPPDATA%\EndpointSecurityLab\events.log

A successful registry write does not prove Chrome applied a policy. Verify effective settings at chrome://policy. The homepage test changes the Home button destination, not the startup page.
OPERATOR CHECKLIST

Record each boundary

Checklist progress is saved only in this browser. No click tracking or endpoint reporting is implemented.

If initial execution is blocked, later actions have not been tested. A separately approved run on this endpoint can evaluate those controls. Benign activity may produce telemetry without a threat alert.
